Established in 1954 under the Korea Development Banking Act, Korea Development Bank (KDB) is a fully government-owned policy bank with a unique mission to support Korea’s industrial development and economic growth. Unlike commercial banks, KDB plays a pivotal role in providing long-term, strategic financing and industry expertise to nurture key sectors of the economy. Over the past seven decades, KDB has stood at the forefront of Korea’s economic journey—from post-war recovery and industrialization to leading responses during financial crises—serving as a steadfast pillar for national stability and innovation. KDB maintains a strong domestic presence with 60 branches and a robust international network spanning 25 overseas locations across 18 countries. KDB is expanding its footprint with the establishment of its Hanoi branch, reinforcing its mission to support Korea’s global economic integration and contribute to sustainable growth in the region.
